YOU’RE MORE PREPARED THAN YOU THINK
No matter what lies ahead, may the new year be one of making the most of what you have. Even if you are waiting for things to fall into place, may you allow yourself to sync into the rhythms of grace that remind you to take this day by day. Every day, your story is being written. Some chapters will be longer than others, and some filled with adventure, while other chapters will set up for the adventure. You may not know what chapter you’re in when you’re in it, but you are free to trust: a story is being written. You are free to use what you have to make this new season of your life worth remembering.
Use what you have.
Let whatever good things are accessible to you become tools.
Tools that you can use in the garden of your life to keep sowing, watering, and nurturing plants into being.
Perhaps, the tool you use in this season will be your creativity. You will dare to say “what if” and paint, photograph, or write something new into existence.
Maybe, the tool you use in this season will be your wisdom. You’ve learned so much this year. Now, you know enough to carry on with more knowledge and experience than you had in the past.
Perhaps. the tool you use in this season will be your presence. Yes, your presence. You’ve learned to be present to the moment. You’ve learned to observe and pay attention. This year, you’ve learned how to focus a little more. You’ve learned how to trust the process.
Make the most of this new season by using whatever tools you have to carry on. To keep cultivating this garden and nurturing every plant within it.
No one has every resource available to them at all times, but the more you are able to identify what you do have access to, the more you will be able to do good and faithful work, starting this garden, right here at the threshold of 2021 and 2022.
So here’s to a new year of making the most of where we are.
Here’s to recognizing that we have what we need to keep going, at a mindful pace.
Here’s to realizing that all along, we have been growing in beautiful ways.
And we are free to take all of the lessons we’ve learned with us, as we carry on.
There is so much more ahead of us and
may we lean into the grace that reminds us:
We are more prepared than we may think.
Yes, we have a long way to go,
but we have already come so far.
Here’s to breathing deep
and making the most
of where we are.
