FOR ALL THAT YOU CANNOT CHANGE, I HOPE YOU ARE ABLE TO NOTICE WHAT IS CHANGEABLE

May you always remember that even when you have things to do, you are free to also seek out ways to conserve your energy. Think of a single candle that burns brightly, but it can only burn for so long. There will be time for that candle to be lit again, but there's also time for it not to be.

Sometimes backing away from something can be hard because even though we know it's taking a lot of energy, there might be a fear that we look irresponsible if we are not able to show up fully at the rate or level that others might expect.  Or perhaps,  we want to continue working on something because we want to, but deep down, we know that our energy is being drained and we need a break. It can be hard to prioritize conserving energy, so here’s something to reflect on:

The energy you have is a valuable resource and taking time to pace yourself doesn't mean you're being selfish with it.

Just like a candle has moments where it is fully lit and lighting up the room just as it is supposed to, and then it has moments where the light might burn more dim before completely going out for a while and coming back later, upon ignition...perhaps the same can be true of us, too.

Perhaps there is an opportunity for us to give our all and also give our all to rest and after that rest, come back when we are ready.

May you continue to find new rhythms of giving what you are able to give, when you are able to give. Trust that it makes a difference in the way you move through life and the way you impact others.
