AURORA; SUNLIGHT IS WAITING FOR YOU

Aurora, a poem
Breathe deep and trust:
you have not missed out on what was meant for you.
The night may cast a long shadow
and you may feel like it will last forever,
but no matter how long the night,
it will not outrun the hope of dawn.

Hold on. Do not give up.
Even on the days when you do not feel
you are original or interesting enough.
Life is worth living, right here, in the present,
no matter the things that have not happened yet.

For this is the beauty of dawn:
it promises us a new day
and yet, all it reveals is this present moment.
It does not show us anything beyond it.
There are no maps woven through the morning’s layers.
And yet, we let the sunrise be what the sunrise wants to be.
We don’t try to climb a ladder and move the clouds or change anything.
We let the colors fill the sky how the colors want to fill the sky.
We experience the range of morning and we don’t even try.

Affirmation: I am letting the sunrise be what the sunrise needs to be.
Word of the day: Aurora (definition above)
Journal: What did the sunrise look like this morning? Write down as many details as possible. And if the sun is yet to rise or still rising, take a photograph. Try to fill at least half of a page with what you noticed about the sunrise and everything around it.

Sincerely,
Morgan
