YOU DON’T HAVE TO FIGURE IT ALL OUT RIGHT NOW
There will be days where you feel Iike you can process more information than others. You will feel alert, productive, and maybe even ambitious. On those days, give your all. But if today is not one of those days, it’s okay. There is no need to feel shame if you can’t process things at your “normal,” desired pace.
On a larger scale, remember that there is real news, real issues, and there is also a lot of noise in between. You might miss some things. You might have to circle back. You might have to take a break. No matter what, you are worth no less if you feel like you’re processing a little more slowly right now.
Be present to this moment, for whatever it is. You don’t have to figure it all out right now, no matter where the mind wanders.
Trust that there is still a bigger picture, even if you don’t capture all of the details at this moment. There is time to come back. There is room to find a quiet place to engage in a deeper, more focused study, even if it’s just 20 minutes before bed.
May you never let the fast-paced nature of the digital world cause you to forget that when you step outside, the clouds still float by slowly. The wind still blows gently. All around, so many things in this world are moving at a slower pace, exactly how they were meant to. You are free to move that way, too.
More tomorrow…
Sincerely,
