YOU ARE WORTHY OF QUIET MOMENTS AND MOMENTS OF REST
There will be moments when you are waiting, where all you can think about is how little time you have left. Even though you desire to be "in the moment," the reality of the clock is too difficult to ignore. You may find yourself longing to "just be," but that only seems to work until you glance over at the calendar and realize that, once again, more time is passing. Once again, you're aware that you're not where you thought you would be. And perhaps, other people seem set on reminding you of this, too.
In that space, may you know this to be true: every breath you breathe right now is, in fact, a pause. Every breath you breathe is a way of creating space to exhale that matters. Wherever you are able to slow down in your life is an important step that is worth acknowledging. Even if you are not able to slow down everywhere all at once, the small areas where you have been able to slow down are worth nurturing.
Not being able to rest as much as you need to doesn't mean that you are not worthy of rest at all. Even as you seek out space, continue to keep in mind that it's not asking too much to need more space to breathe, rest, recover, or do whatever it is you need to do to prepare for what lies ahead.
May you never forget how far you have come in learning to be kind to yourself as you seek out more space for quiet moments and rest. Being able to have that space is something that takes time, but even letting yourself recognize the need and make those small steps matters more than you may realize.
There are things in life that we are able to achieve quickly and with big leaps, and then, there are many other things that happen slowly, including learning how to slow down and where.
For instance, if you start to reflect on this more in daily life, you might find that the way you rest is different from how your family members or housemates rest. You might start to realize that maybe you've been too hard on yourself about trying to create an ideal "self-care" routine when in reality, you're still learning how to enter a space where you're taking care of yourself, and finding the language for what that looks like takes time.
For whatever it is in your life that you are waiting to fall into place, just remember that in that space, you are worthy of quiet moments and moments of rest, wherever you can.
