YOU ARE WORTHY OF A BEAUTIFUL, FULFILLING LIFE
Even here, you are free to look forward to the future with hope.
You have mastered the art of saying, "I'm so happy for you." You have perfected the ear-to-ear grin that lets them know you truly mean it. But at the same time, you cannot help but wonder when good things will happen for you, too. And even though you know the sun is still shining on you, and all around, you see love blooming into life, you cannot help but wonder what it would feel like in your own life. You cannot help but wonder when something beautiful will bloom just for you.
I cannot tell you how much longer
you will have to wait,
but I can tell you are free
to swim in the deep blue sea
of hope
right here, as you are.
You are free to
dream of what is to come
even if you do not know exactly what you are waiting for.
You are free to imagine.
You are free.
You are free.
You are free to be just as excited for your future
as you are about everyone else's,
(even if their futures seem a little more figured out than yours,)
you can still trust that even here,
there is so much more in store.
The same hope you have for their story
is the same hope in your story, too.
And even when you have to wait much longer than them,
beautiful, meaningful moments of life will still be available to you.
There is so much uncertainty in this season, and even in your waiting, you have gotten really good at tasting the possibility of what could be. And you are hoping and you are praying, soon, you will have some clarity. I hope even in that place, you can still have joy. I hope joy can fill your bones to the point that you are ready to take the leap. Ready to speak up. Ready to move forward. Even without knowing what the answer will be.
I hope that even while you are waiting, you hold nothing back. I hope you know that no matter what happens, unbridled joy will last. You will still be free to smile with hope for the future, even on the days where the future does not seem promising.
So when you are happy for your friends, I hope you can also be happy for yourself. I hope you can believe you are worthy of a beautiful, fulfilling life just as much as anyone else. You might have to wait a little longer, and your story might look a little different, but it does not mean that you are worth anything less. You are worthy of love just as much as anyone else. Your future is worthy of hoping the best for, even though you don't know what's in store. You see so much hope and potential in everyone else, and I just hope you can also see it in yourself. I hope you can trust that just because you are waiting, that does not mean that you are not worthy. Their stories are still being written, and your story is still being written, too. You have not seen all there is to see, and there is more ahead of you.
