YOU ARE LEARNING TO PACE YOURSELF THROUGH THIS
It’s never too early or too late to celebrate the good change that has happened in your life. And this is true no matter how small it is. It may not always be easy to notice on the surface level, but when you go deeper, you will begin to discover: there is so much that is happening here, as you move through each day, each week, each month, each year. For example, you might have…
Realized that you need more rest, even if you haven’t been able to rest as much as you want. Admitting this has been a big step for you.
Started making time for something important to you
Thought about what kinds of friends you do or don’t want in your life.
Noticed that someone in your life is more special to you than you first thought.
Given yourself more time to think about how you’re healing, without worrying that it makes sense to everyone else. It's okay if some things are hard to explain.
Understood how important it is to have supportive people in your life and have tried to spend more time with them because it makes a big difference.
The progress you’re making matters no matter what stage you are in. Here’s to remembering: we are all allowed to be at different places right now. Some of us are finally seeing new things bloom exactly how we always hoped they would, while others of us are grieving and seeking peace amidst our losses. Many of us are also holding the tension of joy and sorrow, and hope and weariness –– And even though our stories are different from one another, we all have this in common: we are all learning how to breathe through this. One inhale, one exhale, at a time.
We each came into this season not knowing what tomorrow would bring, but in seven billion different ways, we are making the brave decision to keep trusting, to keep going, and in times like this, that means everything.
So on those days where we feel like our progress has slowed and we start to wonder if we'll ever be enough, may we remember that a few hundred nights ago, we were not sure how we’d make it here, and yet, here we are. We are learning to pace ourselves through this. We are learning to keep traveling through this, hour by hour, day by day.
