EVEN HERE, LIFE IS STILL WORTH LIVING
For all of the things you are waiting for, I hope until then, you can find a life worth living right here in the present.
There is a life right in front of you that is ready to be lived. It might not be the life you always dreamed of, and it might be missing a few things, or a few people, but I promise you, it still matters. And taking the time to delight in the present doesn't take anything away from the future. Even when your hopes for the future are sincere and filled with good intentions, you are being called to live this day in the same way.
It won't be easy, though. You might feel like you are selling yourself short or settling for where you are, but the truth is, this moment is all you have. And the more you can begin to accept it, the more you will find that there is more to the present moment than you have ever seen before. Perhaps an unlikely friendship can be cultivated this month. Perhaps in the time you spend alone in the afternoon, you can find the time to journal or write a poem again. There are seeds to be sown here. There are plants that are already growing that are waiting to be watered. There is so much that you are longing for, but until then, you have what you need to make the most of the life that is right here in front of you.
Let this be the season you step into each day with open eyes, ready to see what is beautiful and true right here, where you are. For through all of the things that have changed around you, and all of the things that have stayed the same, you have learned to keep living, you have learned to be brave. Remember the way your bravery has shown up in seasons before this one, even in the most subtle ways. You may not always feel like the fire that you are, but you will shine on, anyway. You have what it takes to make the most of today.
Hold on. Do not give up. Even on the days when you do not feel you are original or interesting enough. Your story is still being written, and you do not have to wait for things to fall into place before you choose to show up, and give your all, right here where you are. Even when you cannot stop thinking about where you want to be, Light is still pouring in here, running wild over everything, showing you how it is possible that even here, life is still worth living.
The future will fall into place in the way it was meant to. Things that used to keep you up at night and wake you up in the morning will change over the years. You will find peace in unexpected places. You will find hope for a sunrise amidst the heaviest of shadows. You will find that all along, you were filled with life and a hope for the future, and no amount of darkness or uncertainty could take that away from you.
But don’t wait until then to find joy and peace. Find a life worth living, right here, in the present. Even here, you are growing all the same and you can walk in that truth with confidence today.
